Family Mediation is a voluntary and effective means of resolving family law disputes.  Mediation provides a safe, confidential, and neutral environment for parties to express their concerns, interests, and goals, and work towards mutually beneficial solutions. The family mediator, a trained professional, guides the parties’ conversation, helps them explore options, and ensures that they have an equal opportunity to be heard. A family mediator is impartial and does not take sides or impose decisions. Forms of mediation include facilitative mediation, where the mediator assists parties in reaching an agreement, and evaluative mediation, where the mediator offers recommendations and opinions based on the mediator’s assessment of the case.

Mediation works best when both parties are willing to negotiate and prepared to provide full financial disclosure.

Mediation can help families avoid the uncertainty and stress of going to family court, foster collaboration, and restore relationships. It focuses on finding common ground and reaching agreements in the best interests of all involved. Even if a settlement is not reached, mediation can still yield valuable outcomes.
